Terms of Service

These terms apply when you use the Market Companion app or this website. By creating an account you agree to them.
1. What this service is
Market Companion shows delayed market data, news and calendars, lets you record holdings on your own device, and provides chat rooms and direct messages where users discuss markets.
2. This is not investment advice
Nothing in this app is investment advice, a recommendation, or an offer to buy or sell any security. We are not a broker, not an investment adviser, and not regulated as either. We do not know your circumstances and nothing here is tailored to you.
Market data is delayed by at least 15 minutes, may be inaccurate or incomplete, and must not be relied on for trading decisions. Investing carries risk including the total loss of the money you invest. Past performance tells you nothing about future results. Do your own research and consider taking advice from someone licensed in your country.
Other users are strangers on the internet. Anything they post is their own opinion. Never send money to anyone you meet in this app, never share account credentials, and treat anyone offering guaranteed returns, tips, signals, or “managed” accounts as a fraudster, because they almost certainly are.
3. Your account
You must be at least 18. Give an email address you control, keep your password secret, and stay responsible for what happens under your account. One person, one account. Do not impersonate anyone, and do not pick a display name designed to look like staff or a real company.
4. Community rules
Do not use chat to:
- Promote a security you hold in order to move its price, or coordinate buying or selling with others. Pump-and-dump schemes get you banned and reported.
- Sell signals, tips, courses, “mentorship”, managed accounts or subscription groups, or solicit anyone into off-platform trading arrangements.
- Post referral links, spam, or repetitive promotional content.
- Ask for or send money, wallet addresses, or payment details.
- Harass, threaten, or abuse anyone, or post hateful content.
- Post sexual content, content involving minors, or anything illegal.
- Share malware, or files you do not have the right to share.
- Post other people's personal information.
- Impersonate a broker, regulator, journalist, or company representative.
5. Attachments
You may attach images and documents to chat messages. You keep ownership of what you upload, and you grant us only the limited permission needed to store your file and show it to the people you sent it to. Everything uploaded is scanned for malware. Ordinary accounts may attach images, PDFs, CSV, text and spreadsheets; other formats are rejected.
6. Moderation and enforcement
Messages can be reported by any user, and some are automatically flagged for review. We may remove content, restrict features, or suspend or permanently ban an account that breaks these rules, and we may do so without notice where the risk to other users is immediate. We may report suspected fraud or illegal content to the authorities.
We do not pre-screen everything users post and we are not responsible for the accuracy of anything a user says. If you see something wrong, report it in the app by holding down the message.
7. Your data
Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect. Your watchlist and portfolio stay on your device. You can delete your account at any time, in the app or at marketcompanion247.com/delete-account.html.
8. Availability
The service is provided as it is, without warranties. We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, that market data will be accurate or timely, or that messages will always be delivered. We may change or discontinue features.
9. Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for investment losses, trading decisions, lost profits, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the app, from market data, or from anything another user posts. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. When we do we will raise the version number, and the app will ask you to accept the new version before you continue using chat.
